HVAC Tech III

Location : Las Vegas, Nevada

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, controls distribution systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The following is a list of essential functions that the HVAC Technician III is responsible for:

  • Installs, troubleshoots and repairs heating, air conditioning refrigeration units, including chillers, boilers and heat pumps

  • Troubleshoots malfunctioning heating, air conditioning refrigeration systems to determine the cause of the malfunction

  • Performs scheduled maintenance inspections, and adjusts, cleans and calibrates various systems to assure proper system operations

  • Repairs wiring and electronic components associated with automated building management systems

  • Replaces expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units other component parts

  • Cleans refrigerant systems from hermetic burnouts, evacuates, and charges systems

  • May be required to assist with repairs to direct digital and pneumatic control systems

  • Determines cause of and corrects condensation problems

  • Prepares records and reports describing procedures, actions taken and recommended solutions

  • Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment

  • Responds to emergency service requests

  • May supervise work of other technicians

  • Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety orders, departmental operating procedures and safety regulations sufficient to ensure that work is performed in compliance with applicable law.

  • Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices.

  • Follows safety rules/procedures; avoid known hazards in the work environment.

  • Reviews safety procedures before beginning each job with known hazards.

  • Safety first. Places avoidance of injury or property damage above all other job requirements.

  • Ability to develop and managed safety procedures.

  • May be required to wear some type of respiratory protection in the performance of their duties

  • Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken

  • Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems

  • Ability to report out to senior management and ensure that clear understanding of challenges and events

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a certified technical school; and 5 or more year’s related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10 years plus Industrial experience

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and Aerial Lift Certification
    Journeyman or Contractors Mechanical License (preferred but not mandatory)
    Universal Recovery Certification
    Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification
    Universal - Type I, II and III

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
